Have You Seen My Motivation?

Because it continues to be MIA.

I’ve already written about my predicament this summer  In July I mentioned that I was feeling a bit sluggish and my exercise routine was all but non-existent.  Um… I’m a little embarrassed to report that it hasn’t gotten much better.  I don’t know what my deal is.  I haven’t been completely inactive but I also haven’t been as active as I’d like (and as I feel I should be) and my eating has also been less than stellar.  Bad combo.  And, as much as I’d rather avoid it and definitely not talk about it, I’ve put on a few pounds since July and I’m not as happy with my appearance.  I know I only have myself to blame.  What did I expect?  You mean fitness and food directly impact how I feel and how I look?!?  Imagine that!

However, knowing that and doing something about it are two different animals.  But I am not okay with just knowing and not doing so…  I’m doing something about it.  I’m declaring it publicly so all you people can keep me accountable.  I am turning this train right around.

In the past two weeks I have started running regularly again (and often working out on days that I don’t run) and this weekend I will be taking part in Color Me Rad, my first color run!  I’m excited!  I will be running with Katie and her husband.  Katie is going to be wearing a tutu, which makes me think I should have a fun little running outfit too… but what?!  Hit me with some ideas!  I’m planning on keeping up with the running after Color Me Rad now that the weather is a bit cooler and more conducive to running.  I even marked all the upcoming local road runner club races that I can take part in for free (because I am a member) on the calendar and plan to participate in as many of the as possible.  I’m looking forward to it!  Races really help motivate me with my running.

And then, on Monday, the fall session of Best Body Bootcamp begins!  I’ve been interested in BBB for a while now but never signed up.  I wasn’t sure I wanted to pony up the dough, honestly.  But when Tina was offering a discount at the very beginning of fall sign-ups, I decided to jump on it.  I think taking part in BBB will go a long way towards restoring my motivation and fitness habits!

I’m not going to let my motivation just slip away – I’m out there hunting it!
